WaterFurnace International, Inc., a leading manufacturer of geothermal and water source heat pumps, announces that the company’s design, production and distribution operations have been certified to the ISO 9001:2008 with Design International Quality System Standard.

FORT WAYNE, IN – WaterFurnace International, Inc., a leading manufacturer of geothermal and water source heat pumps, announces that the company’s design, production and distribution operations have been certified to the ISO 9001:2008 with Design International Quality System Standard.

ISO 9001:2008 is a global benchmark for quality management, developed and published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

“Achieving ISO certification is a significant accomplishment, because the company’s entire business processes are independently audited for consistently high standards,” explained Carl Huber, vice president of corporate quality at WaterFurnace. “This accomplishment demonstrates that WaterFurnace is serious about delivering quality systems through a rigorous testing process.”

Over an 11-month period, internal audit teams scrutinized and documented WaterFurnace processes. The entire quality system was then audited and certified to the standards and requirements of ISO 9001:2008 with Design by Smithers Quality Assessments Inc., a leading accreditation registrar that is fully accredited by the American National Accreditation Body and is a member of the Independent Association of Accredited Registrars.

ISO standards ensure desirable characteristics of products and services, such as quality, environmental friendliness, safety, reliability, efficiency and interchangeability. In many cases, they make the development, manufacture and supply of products and services more efficient, safer and cleaner. ISO 9001:2008 certification provides focus and discipline for a manufacturer and creates credibility and confidence in the manufacturer’s products and services.
