PHCC’s CONNECT 2013 offers 'big ideas' to plumbing, HVAC Contractors

With new regulations fast approaching – and new technologies and business strategies changing the landscape of the plumbing and HVAC industry – contractors are discovering that readiness and responsiveness are the keys to separating them as the frontrunners.

FALLS CHURCH, VA. —With new regulations fast approaching – and new technologies and business strategies changing the landscape of the plumbing and HVAC industry – contractors are discovering that readiness and responsiveness are the keys to separating them as the frontrunners.

To give them that upper hand in business, the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors – National Association (PHCC) has packed CONNECT 2013 — set for Oct. 16-19 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas — with big ideas on topics they asked for, including online marketing, customer service, business diversification, new DOE water heater regulations, a changing workforce, environmental issues, and much more.

Keynote speaker and Forbespublisher and columnist Rich Karlgaard will kick off the conference with a presentation that will put attendees on “The Edge of Innovation.” He has interviewed hundreds of companies to see what separates the frontrunners from the stragglers in this tough post-recession economy, and has uncovered some surprising discoveries regarding which business strategies create the most sustainable edge.

Other educational sessions will help conference-goers break away from “business as usual” with innovative ways to address dramatic changes impacting the p-h-c industry, and highly respected leaders in water conservation will reveal ground-breaking programs and business opportunities in that arena. In fact, those attending a special PHCC Certified Water Auditor Program will come home with new information and qualifications to expand their market presence on the water-energy platform.

Additionally, CONNECT’s popular Product & Technology Showcase will provide an intimate setting where contractors, manufacturers and other business partners can learn and exchange ideas about products, technologies and advancements in the plumbing and HVACR industry.

“This is going to be a pivotal year for contractors as they revitalize their businesses while addressing all the new opportunities and changes in our industry,” said PHCC President David Dugger. “There’s no denying the advantages of seeing such advancements first-hand and talking with industry leaders and peers face-to-face – the feedback from our members is testament to that – so we’re thrilled to be able to put allof these opportunities under one roof and give attendees business strategies that they can start putting in place immediately.”

Fittingly, the site of this year’s CONNECT conference is Las Vegas, where attendees are sure to not only re-energize their businesses with a “jackpot” of big ideas but recharge themselves as they network with their peers at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, participate in one of the CONNECT team-building events at the Las Vegas Speedway, or join a tour at the Hoover Dam or Springs Preserve.
