FRANKLIN PARK, IL — Sherry Davenport has been appointed Executive Director of Marketing for Sloan Valve Company. The announcement was made by John Aykroyd, Vice President of Business Development.
“Sherry brings proven leadership and progressive experience within the business-to-business market segments where Sloan operates,” Aykroyd said. “She will direct worldwide marketing for the company by leading, developing, and executing our brand and strategic marketing plans. She will also be responsible for new product development launches, product positioning, strategic planning programs, corporate communications, and public relations.”
In her new role, Davenport will direct and manage the strategic development, design and implementation of product positioning and launches, as well as brand and market awareness campaigns, including design and advertising. In expanding the positive image of Sloan, she will direct the marketing team, champion Sloan products, and work closely with Sloan’s value-chain to assure that strategic objectives are met.
Prior to this position, Davenport worked for just over a decade in the telecommunications industry at U.S. Cellular in various positions, the most recent being director of product management and marketing for the $3.7 billion company. Her role included full P&L, forecasting and market planning for the firm’s wireless data application products and services. She worked at U.S. Robotics prior to that as a channel marketing manager. She has a B.S. in Marketing from Arizona State University.
“Sherry combines marketing communications and new product development into a sharp focus,” Aykroyd added. “That leverages our brand and paves the way for exciting initiatives in the months ahead.”
