EMCOR Services New England Mechanical is the Specialty Contractor of the Year for 2014

EMCOR Services named New England Specialty Contractor of the Year

Vernon, CT –The Associated Builders and Contractors of Connecticut (CT ABC) named EMCOR Services New England Mechanical (NEMSI) Specialty Contractor of the Year for 2014 at its annual awards dinner held January 29, 2015 in Southington, Connecticut.

CT ABC also presented NEMSI with an Excellence in Construction Award for its project at the Kent School’s Music & Mattison Auditorium, and additionally, recognized NEMSI for its 20 years of committed and active membership.

The CT ABC is a membership association representing merit shop contractors. Its Specialty Contractor of the Year Award was based on NEMSI’s participation in the organization’s events, committees, and meetings; its overall belief in the merit shop philosophy; and a commitment to its employees’ continuing education training.

NEMSI’s receipt of CT ABC’s Excellence in Construction Award was presented for its work on the Kent School’s Music & Mattison Auditorium project where NEMSI was a subcontractor providing full mechanical services for the renovation of music classrooms and practice rooms, and an assembly auditorium. The project created state-of-the-art spaces for the facilities, converting the auditorium into a theater performance space and creating a new cutting-edge recording studio for the music program.

“We’re extremely honored to be named Specialty Contractor of the Year, and for CT ABC to additionally recognize our work at the Kent School’s Music & Mattison Auditorium, as well as our 20 year active membership in CT ABC,” commented Dana Finnegan, President & CEO, EMCOR Services New England Mechanical.  "As steward for the Connecticut construction industry, we’re proud to be an engaged member and active participant in many of CT ABC’s advocacy and educational activities.”
