InSinkErator Honors PHCC Auxiliary Members at CONNECT 2012

InSinkErator, a business unit of St. Louis-based Emerson Electric Co. and the largest manufacturer of instant hot water dispensers, honored the outstanding work of plumbers, contractors and technicians last week at CONNECT 2012, the 130th Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors (PHCC) National Association annual convention.
RACINE, WIS. – InSinkErator, a business unit of St. Louis-based Emerson Electric Co. and the largest manufacturer of instant hot water dispensers, honored the outstanding work of plumbers, contractors and technicians last week at CONNECT 2012, the 130th Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors (PHCC) National Association annual convention. The event, held Oct. 3-5 in Philadelphia, united professionals from across the U.S. and recognized exemplary work from several PHCC state and local chapters.

The PHCC National Auxiliary and InSinkErator presented notable auxiliary members with the annual Robert M. Cox Humanitarian and Larry Dore Member of the Year awards.  

Harley Perry of the San Diego PHCC Auxiliary was honored with the Larry Dore Member of the Year Award, and received a $2,000 cash gift and a commemorative plaque.  The Member of the Year Award recognizes a member who has been active at various levels within the auxiliary and has made a substantial contribution to the plumbing, heating and cooling industry. Perry has been a part of the chapter since 1982 and has worked in the plumbing business since 1975.  He was instrumental in starting the PHCC Apprenticeship Training Program in 2008 and currently serves as chairman of the program.  Perry also serves on the PHCC California State Board of Directors, and he is a member of Quality Service Contractors.  

Claudia Henrichsen of the Metro Phoenix PHCC Auxiliary was the runner-up for the Larry Dore Award, receiving a $1,000 cash prize and commemorative certificate.

The Robert M. Cox Humanitarian Award recognizes state or local auxiliaries that have made an impact on the industry or local community, and demonstrate cooperation between the auxiliary and contractor association.  

Awards were presented in the categories of Image and Recruitment, and were given to auxiliaries in three different membership groups:

Honorable Mention (3-20 members) – Louisiana State Auxiliary PHCC
 
1st Place (21-40 members) - PHCC of Illinois Auxiliary
 
1st Place (41 or more members) – PHCC Auxiliary of Minnesota
 
Robert M. Cox Humanitarian Award – Recruitment:                 
1st Place (3-20 members) – Lincoln PHCC Auxiliary of Nebraska
2nd Place (3-20 members) – PHCC Auxiliary of Delaware
Honorable Mention (3-20 members) – New Jersey PHCC Auxiliary
 
1st Place (21-40 members) - PHCC of Illinois Auxiliary

1st Place (41+ members) - PHCC Auxiliary of Minnesota
 

This year’s first-place winners received a $1,000 cash award; second-place winners were awarded $500; and honorable mentions received a $400 cash prize.
