MORTON, PA. — Seven complimentary heaters will be installed for families in need this holiday season by more than 40 volunteers who work for Oliver Heating, Cooling & Plumbing located here. The installations are scheduled for Jan. 8, 2011. All of the volunteers are donating their time to install these seven heating systems.
Twelve years ago, as a way to give back to the community, Oliver Heating began the Heat for the Holidays outreach program to help families who might be experiencing hardships and need a helping hand. Candidates are evaluated by community leaders on the following criteria: medical circumstances, financial hardships, community involvement and any other circumstances that might aid in the evaluation process. The original plan was to install two systems each year. To date more than 30 systems have been installed.
This program has been made possible by the generosity of others. Alliance Bank has been a major contributor since the beginning of the program. Lennox Industries, Lyon Conklin, J. Lorber Company, Johnstone Supply, Graingers and US Supply have also donated equipment and supplies. Oliver Heating, Cooling & Plumbing will be celebrating their 40th Anniversary in February 2011.
