BUFFALO GROVE, IL - EMCOR Group has announced that its Team Mechanical, Inc. subsidiary donned pink hard hats and gathered at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge on Monday October 5, in a “Call to Action” in support of Breast Cancer screening and awareness as part of the company’s “Protect Yourself” campaign. Team Mechanical employees will wear their Pink EMCOR Hard Hats as they work throughout the month of October in order to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness month.

“We are very excited about our participation in this initiative," said Bob Doessel, President of Team Mechanical. "While working on construction projects, our employees wear hard hats on a daily basis for personal protection, and we are proud of their commitment to wear an EMCOR Pink Hard Hat for the month of October to raise awareness of the disease that affects so many lives. As a Company that has built its reputation on being actively engaged in the concerns of our industry and our community, it’s gratifying to demonstrate our support for breast cancer screening and awareness."

Among the attendees at the gathering on Monday were Team Mechanical sales engineer Mike McBride, whose wife Jen is fighting breast cancer. “I’m going through my second diagnosis of in two years, and I’m starting chemotherapy again, so this effort means a lot to us,” said Jen. “Cancer touches everyone in some way, and this effort can mean so much to so many people. When people see these Pink Hard Hats on the workers during the day, and when they go home at night and their spouses see their Pink Hard Hats, it will hopefully cause people to think about “Protecting Themselves” by getting screened.”

A number of EMCOR’s 76 subsidiaries coast to coast in the U.S., as well as its UK subsidiary, are commemorating Breast Cancer Awareness month with its employees wearing EMCOR Pink Hard Hats in support of the Company’s “Protect Yourself” campaign.
