Haberberger awarded Ameren Project

ST. LOUIS, MO. -- Mechanical contracting firm Haberberger, Inc., was recently awarded the mechanical package for the new Ameren Landfill Gas to Energy (LFGTE) project, which will be constructed at the Fred Weber landfill in Creve Coeur, Mo. The landfill generates methane gas, which, once the project is completed, will be harvested and processed for use in three gas turbine generators producing 15 megawatts of electrical power, or enough for approximately 10,000 homes.

Under the supervision of Project Manager Pat Reilly, Haberberger will be in charge of completing the mechanical, plumbing and HVAC systems for Ameren. HR Green, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, will oversee the construction management and engineering. Subcontractors include Harke Sheet Metal, Bieg Plumbing, Dynamic Controls and Thornburgh Insulation.

Construction is scheduled to start in March, with the mechanical work commencing in June. Project completion is scheduled for the spring of 2012.

Haberberger, Inc. is a 63-year-old mechanical contracting company that offers complete HVAC installation, customized maintenance programs, design-build services, process piping and piping fabrication, and refrigeration and energy management services to a variety of industrial and commercial customers.
