RIDGID provides $14,650 in support for plumbing apprentices

Falls Church, VA. — The three top winners of the PHCC Educational Foundation’s Plumbing Apprentice Contest are learning with a brand new set of tools and extra cash in their pockets thanks to RIDGID. Curtis Bruington of Central Texas Plumbing Solutions in Waco, Texas, received $3,500 in cash and RIDGID tools for his first place finish in the apprentice contest. Second place winner Cameron Lange of Nevada and third place winner Jason Robertson of Louisiana received cash and tools valued totaling $2,250 and $1,500, respectively.

Winners of the PHCC Educational Foundation’s Plumbing Apprentice Contest received a brand new set of tools thanks to RIDGID.

In addition to this exceptional support for the contest winners, RIDGID has also donated $7,400 in tools for the apprentice schools that the contest winners attend. The Texas PHCC Apprenticeship Program received an assortment of tools valued at $3,000 and local schools in Nevada and Louisiana received tools worth another $4,250. Tools donated to the apprenticeship training programs included an assortment of items including flaring tools, yoke vises, pipe stands, inspection cameras, band saws, and a variety of other power tools.

Texas PHCC Executive Director Nancy Jones stated, “PHCC Texas is so appreciative of the wonderful tools donated by RIDGID to our apprentice training program. What a great way to honor our first place apprentice, Curtis Bruington! Our apprentice instructors and students are very grateful for these new tools, which will enhance our program by adding tools we really needed that will provide more hands on training in our lab. Thank you, RIDGID!”

“Not only has RIDGID helped our contest winners with their education expenses, but they have also provided them with high quality tools to do their jobs,” said Merry Beth Hall, director of apprentice and journeyman training for the PHCC Educational Foundation. “By adding support for their training schools, RIDGID goes a step further by helping the programs that produced these top apprentices to continue their traditions of excellence in training apprentices for years to come.”
