Stress likely isn’t the first thing that pops into anyone’s mind for plumbers, but contractors are a varied group. We have business owners, long-time veterans, rookie plumbers and more in the ranks. With that said, there are plenty of stressors for everyone; no one is above getting stressed out from time to time. (Photo by Patrick Smith/Getty Images)
New plumbers worry about whether they’re learning and how they’ll succeed. Business owners will worry whether customers are being served properly and money is being made. Even veterans will have work stress.
Stress can cause anxiety, aches and pains, frequent sickness and can certainly add to heart disease. It may not be the biggest threat plumbers face on a day-in, day-out basis, but it is certainly not a stress-free job.
For plumbers feeling very stressed out, it is a great idea to speak with your doctor about what steps you can take to reduce stress. It may be as simple as increasing exercise, deep breathing or even just clearing your mind.
