NORWALK, CONN. — EMCOR Group Inc., the nation’s largest mechanical and electrical contractor, has received two prestigious awards from Frost & Sullivan, a global consulting firm.

Frost & Sullivan honored EMCOR with its 2003 Customer Value Enhancement Award for Building Technologies, noting that EMCOR has enjoyed “phenomenal growth” and “garners excellent customer loyalty.”

It also presented the company with its 2003 Competitive Strategy Award, for an “expansion strategy that has resulted in a solid presence in the integrated facility management services market.”

Frost & Sullivan noted that EMCOR is “a top contender for the top position in the areas of planning, consulting, mechanical and electrical construction and facilities services.”

“We are gratified to be recognized for the advances EMCOR has made by providing our customers significant value and developing a competitive strategy that has enabled us to become a market leader,” said Bill Rodgers, executive vice president and COO for enterprise accounts. “These are two areas, at the core of our business, in which we believe we have differentiated ourselves from other companies. It’s what we mean by ‘knowledge in action.’”

“EMCOR is a company that has ‘integrated facilities competencies’ central to its existence and core industry focus, whereas, its competitors cannot claim similar focus since they are multi-product or multi-market corporations,” said Sanjiv Bhaskar, Frost & Sullivan industrial automation team leader. “At the same time, EMCOR has made continuous improvements and investments in their solution services, which enable their customers to increase revenue, decrease production costs and reduce operating risks.”

Rodgers accepted the award for the company in mid-July in Boston. The award adds to the growing list of honors EMCOR has received. Barron’s has cited EMCOR as No. 37 on its list of the top 500 Best Performing Companies, and Fortune has named it one of America’s Most Admired Companies.

Frost & Sullivan Awards are presented to companies that demonstrate excellence in their industry, commending the diligence, commitment and innovative business strategies required to advance in the global marketplace.

A Fortune 500 company, EMCOR Group provides mechanical and electrical construction and facilities services, including planning, consulting, operations and maintenance. More than 70 companies and 26,000 employees at more than 140 locations around the world comprise the EMCOR family. Over the past decade, EMCOR has achieved growth and success through diversification of service, market and geography and by addressing the needs of a wide cross section of companies in many sectors, the company said.
