Havel's Michael Pethe recognized with 1st place in National Apprentice Contest

SOUTH BEND, IND. — Michael Pethe, an apprentice with Havel in South Bend, Indiana, has been named the top HVAC Apprentice in the U.S., as part of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors National Association (PHCC) Educational Foundation's third annual National HVAC Apprentice Contest, held September 30 through October 1 in Hollywood, Florida.

The PHCC’s 2015 Plumbing & HVAC Apprentice Contests offered the nation's top 20 plumbing and top 12 HVAC apprentices a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills. Held during the CONNECT 2015 Product & Technology Showcase event in Hollywood, Florida, the contest was judged by members of the PHCC Education Foundation’s HVACR Apprentice and Journeyman Training Committee.
 
“Havel is exceedingly proud of Michael Pethe earning the 1st place award in the national HVAC Apprentice Contest---indeed, his performance at the competition was exemplary,” stated James Witzenman, Senior Vice President, Havel.  “It’s a great honor for him to be recognized as the top apprentice in the country by the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors National Association.”
 
Michael Pethe has worked for Havel for four years and is an integral part of the company’s service team.  With a strong background in HVAC service and retrofits, Michael provides boiler and chiller maintenance, service and repair for some of the Havel’s valued clients.
