The International Code Council announced today that Shahin Moinian has been selected as the next President of the ICC Evaluation Service, replacing Mark Johnson who was promoted to ICC Executive Vice President earlier this year.  Moinian has served ICC-ES with distinction as a Senior Vice President over the last two years following an 11-year career at the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials.

“The Evaluation Service is an important subsidiary of the International Code Council and I am extremely pleased Shahin will be leading our efforts to provide excellent customer service to our evaluation report holders and code officials,” said Rick Weiland, CEO of the Code Council.

“My challenge has been laid out before me. Every day I will come to work thinking of innovative new ways to respond to the needs of our customers while protecting the well-deserved reputation the ICC Evaluation Service has earned through our commitment to quality and technical excellence,” said incoming ES President Moinian.

Moinian started his career as a project engineer at a spa manufacturing company designing products and components. He next joined a product certification organization as an assistant director and eventually the director of research.  Moinian then moved to Ohio and worked as the director of codes and standards with Moen Incorporated. He returned to California after five years and worked as the Senior Director of IAPMO Research and Testing.  Moinian oversaw the global certification activities, which included business planning and execution, certification activities, sales and marketing activities, management registration program, standards department and the laboratory recognition program.

Moinian is a licensed mechanical engineer (California and Ohio) with a Master of Engineering in mechanical engineering from Cal-Poly, Pomona.  He lives in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.
