ALEXANDRIA, VA. -- Thermostat Recycling Corporation (TRC) has released new training videos to provide step-by-step guidance to its mercury thermostat recycling program.  The videos, available to view on TRC’s YouTube page (http://www.youtube.com/user/ThermostatRecycling) and website (www.thermostat-recycle.org), are geared toward contractors and HVAC wholesalers who are new to the program or who need a refresher on how to effectively implement and promote the program. The first video serves as an awareness piece that illustrates the importance of recycling mercury thermostats.  It also shows how easily contractors or consumers can bring mercury thermostats they remove from service to their participating HVAC wholesaler to recycle for free.  The second video serves as a tutorial for participating HVAC wholesaler collection locations by providing detailed steps on how to run the program from their branch.  It highlights procedures, safety precautions, and best practices to ensure the program runs smoothly and effectively.    “These videos serve as a great awareness and training tool to offer step-by-step instructions about the TRC program, which in turn will help aide the recovery of more mercury thermostats nationwide,” said Mark Tibbetts, Executive Director of TRC. Free copies of all videos are available by request by emailing [email protected].
