LAS VEGAS — Two workshops will be held in conjunction with the eighth IEA International Heat Pump Conference May 30-June 2 here. The workshops will be held May 30 to discuss work underway or planned in two International Energy Agency heat pump technology projects.

The first, which will be held at 8:30 a.m. and chaired by Carsten Wemhöner, will be devoted to test procedures and seasonal performance calculation methods for integrated HVACR appliances (e.g., water heating heat pumps). Participants will discuss work underway and proposed methods for assessing performance of such appliances.

The second workshop will begin at 1:30 p.m. and will focus on overcoming market barriers for ground- and water-source heat pumps. This workshop, which will be chaired by Hermann Halozan, will be directed to planning for international collaboration directed on this topic.

Registration for the conference is required to attend the free workshops. See the Website, www.ornl.gov/hp2005, for further information.
