Following a celebration of its 100th anniversary, A.O. Reed & Co., a California Mechanical Contractor, is has announced that David Clarkin has been chosen to lead the company into its next 100 years.

Following a celebration of its 100th anniversary, A.O. Reed & Co., a California Mechanical Contractor, is has announced that David Clarkin has been chosen to lead the company into its next 100 years.

Clarkin, who is currently the Executive Vice President, accepts the position from Steve Andrade, who has been President since 1991. Andrade will remain in his role as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board and continue to provide guidance to Reed’s 500-plus employees and outstanding service to the Southern California Community.

Clarkin has 24 years of mechanical experience and has been with A.O. Reed since 2003. He started his career after receiving a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from San Diego State University. His construction experience includes project management, estimating, value engineering and managing pre-construction process for large commercial projects.

Clarkin was responsible for the pre-construction and construction of the following A.O. Reed projects (partial list): Scripps Cardiovascular Institute, Camp Pendleton Hospital, San Diego Medical Examiner / Forensics Center, Sharp Hospital, Pacific Beacon, Cars Land Disney California Adventure, UCLA Center for Health Sciences, UCLA Teaching and Learning Center for Health Sciences.

The Board of Directors of A.O. Reed & Co. congratulates Clarkin on the appointment: “We are pleased to promote Mr. Clarkin. His previous experience as Executive Vice President, coupled with his leadership skills and business instinct made Mr. Clarkin the natural choice. We are confident that with his background and experience in the industry that he will excel at leading A.O. Reed in the next stage of its growth.”
