LEESBURG, VA. – Rehau announces the opening of its first permanent Academy training center in Canada. A formal ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the new facility, located in Burlington, Ont., on Sept. 21, over which Rehau Ontario sales director James Clavel and Rehau Academy manager Lance MacNevin presided.

“Rehau and Rehau Academy are committed to providing professional training opportunities that elevate technical know-how and increase business opportunities for our attendees,” said MacNevin. “Demand continues to escalate throughout Canada for expertise in PEX-based radiant heating/cooling, snow and ice melting and geothermal system design and installation, as well as the ability to integrate sustainable building technologies. We are pleased to address this demand by establishing our premiere Canadian Academy training center in Burlington, and look forward to offering an enhanced variety of professional development experiences here.”

“Companies like Rehau help the entire industry to continually raise the bar of pride, professionalism and excellence,” said Ken Tomihiro, program manager at the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating. “The new Academy training facility is an impressive representation of Rehau’s commitment to the cultivation of industry professionals, and we are very thankful for our ability to also use it for CIPH training programs.”

“As the regional technical associate for Rehau, Klimatrol is excited to have a location well suited for mechanical contractors, wholesalers and engineers to come and learn about new comfort and energy saving technology,” said Mark Euteneier, president of Klimatrol Environmental Systems Ltd. “In recommending the Rehau floor heating system to our customers, it is also very important for us to train them on correct installation, as well as to help them understand the quality behind the Rehau system. The programs available under Rehau’s Academy umbrella of trainings are very helpful and valuable in our achievement of this aim.”

A wide scope of construction industry focused Rehau Academy training classes will be held at the new facility. These include seminars for hydronic radiant heating, snow and ice melting and geothermal piping systems, such as the Rehau Skill Builders training courses tailored to the specific needs of system contractors and designers. The facility’s inaugural training class, a comprehensive three-day Skill Builders Complete seminar, was held Sept. 22 to 24, and attended by more than 25 construction industry professionals.

The new training center will be frequently utilized for seminars facilitated by MacNevin, Rehau Ontario account manager Dale Hanscomb and other training professionals. It will also be available as a professional development meeting space for Rehau customers and partners across all construction sectors, including HVAC, renewable energy and windows and doors.
