TRAVELER’S REST, S.C. — George I. Theisen, founder of T&S Brass and Bronze Works, has died after being in declining health for several years. T&S Brass & Bronze Works closed its doors for the day on Nov. 19 in his honor and memory.

He founded T&S Brass & Bronze Works in December 1947 and served as its president and CEO until 1992. Active in the plumbing industry for decades, Theisen served on many boards and committees. He was president of the Plumbing Manufacturers Institute in 1977.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; five children, Claude Theisen, Lisbeth Theisen, Clifford Theisen, Susan Washburn and Eva-Marie Fox; and 13 grandchildren. A private family memorial was held at Arlington National Cemetery, where Theisen was buried.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the George I. Theisen North Greenville Family YMCA, P.O. Box 187, Travelers Rest, SC 29690 or the George I. Theisen Scholarship Fund at Greenville Tech Foundation, P.O. Box 5616, Greenville, SC 29606.
