John W. Danforth Company Opening Vermont Office
WILLISTON, VT – John W. Danforth Company, one of the largest mechanical contractors in the northeast, is establishing an official presence in Vermont, with the opening of a new office in Williston. The office is Danforth’s sixth regional office and its first in Vermont.
Located at 20 Clif’s Court, Danforth’s office features 3,000 square feet of professional office space and a 7,600-square-foot pipe fabrication shop. The company aims to employ 10-15 office personnel, including operations, sales estimating and service professionals. In addition, Danforth estimates having 40-60 field workers, including both piping and sheet metal workers, based on workload.

Founded in Buffalo, NY in 1884, Danforth has been a leader in the mechanical contracting industry for more than 140 years. Some of the notable projects in which the company has participated in recent years include projects at Spruce Peak in Stowe, work at the CityPlace development in Burlington, BETA Technologies in Williston, Barry Callebaut in St. Albans, and Global Foundries in Essex.

In addition to its Williston office, Danforth has more than 1,000 employees across a geographic footprint that includes operations in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, and Albany, New York, and Columbus, Ohio, covering approximately 750 miles. Across its operations, Danforth has more than 150,000 square feet of fabrication space, providing expertise in pipe, sheet metal, copper, stainless steel, and high-purity fabrication, with skilled tradesworkers utilizing state-of-the-art equipment to support and execute company projects.

Danforth works collaboratively with its union labor partners including the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters (UA), the Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers (SMART), and several other labor partners across many local union jurisdictions throughout the northeast and beyond. The company has taken a leadership position in industry organizations, including the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA), the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA), the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), and others.
