Global Drain Technologies Adds Veteran Engineer Scott Steindler to Growth Team
Key Highlights
- GDT hires industry veteran Scott Steindler
- Focus on stainless steel drainage for food, commercial and industrial projects
- Move strengthens specification and contractor support across North America
Global Drain Technologies has appointed industry veteran Scott Steindler to its business development team, adding deep technical expertise as the company expands its drainage solutions presence across North America.
Veteran Industry Leader Joins Growth Strategy
Steindler most recently served as National Industrial Manager for Watts Water Technologies.
For contractors and specifying engineers, the move signals GDT’s continued focus on strengthening technical support and expanding relationships in engineered drainage markets.
“Scott’s unparalleled expertise in stainless steel drainage and his deep-rooted commitment to the engineering community make him a natural fit for GDT,” said Kevin Mayer, Chief Commercial Officer, GDT.
Strong Background in Engineering and Field Experience
Steindler brings 31 years of experience spanning field plumbing, wholesale distribution and fire protection design.
That mix of hands-on and engineering experience can be especially valuable in drainage applications where constructability, code compliance and long-term performance all intersect.
He has also held multiple leadership roles within the American Society of Plumbing Engineers, including Vice President Technical, Vice President Membership and Region IV Director.
In 2020, he was inducted into the ASPE College of Fellows (FASPE), one of the organization’s highest honors.
Focus on Stainless Steel and Sanitary Drainage Applications
At GDT, Steindler is expected to help drive adoption of stainless steel drainage systems in markets where sanitation, corrosion resistance and durability are critical.
That includes food and beverage facilities, commercial buildings and industrial plants—applications where trench drains, slot drains and hygienic drainage systems often play a direct role in safety and maintenance outcomes.
For contractors, demand in these segments continues to grow as owners prioritize washdown capability, bacteria mitigation and lifecycle durability.
Connecting Manufacturers With Engineers and Contractors
Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Steindler will support GDT’s continued North American growth by helping bridge product innovation with the needs of design engineers and project stakeholders.
That can include specification support, technical education and product guidance that helps contractors install systems correctly and avoid redesigns late in the project cycle.
As engineered drainage becomes more specialized, manufacturers with stronger field and engineering support can play a larger role in project success.
