BAYONNE, N.J. -- General Plumbing Supply (www.generalplumbingsupply.net) recently celebrated its 100th anniversary, and the New Jersey-based company will mark the occasion with an appearance on the February 7 (9 p.m. EST) episode of “Cake Boss,” which airs on the TLC network.

On the “Cake Boss” episode, master baker Buddy Valastro manages a team that creates a cake the shape and size of a ‘50s-style toilet. Weighing in at about 150 pounds, the cake –- which has a pump that circulates water -- features a range of realistic sound effects.

In 1910, Charles S. Goldberg started what came to be known as Goldberg Plumbing Supply in Bayonne, N.J. Since then, the company, now known as General Plumbing Supply, has expanded to become one of the largest distributors in the eastern U.S., with New Jersey locations in Edison, Morris Plains, Bayonne, Hawthorne, Orange, Middletown, Union, Ridgefield, Dover, Tenafly and Bergenfield. General Plumbing Supply is now a fourth-generation company that has grown into one of the East Coast’s leading suppliers for plumbing, heating, HVAC, and industrial equipment. There currently are 11 General Plumbing Supply sites in New Jersey, with a kitchen-and-bath showroom at six of these locations. In addition, a 12th site will opened in May, in Lakewood, N.J.
