NASHUA, N.H. — Propell Energy, a provider of commercial and municipal wood pellet boiler systems, and a group of 20 biomass fuels industry representatives, retail leaders and interested parties, presented and hosted the Heating the Northeast with Renewable Biomass Conference, April 29-30, here.

Biomass energy is defined as any organic material that can be burned and used as a source of fuel. Examples include wood pellets, wood chips and grasses.

"It's exciting to be a part of this groundbreaking conference that will educate consumers and build awareness of biomass heating technologies in the Northeast,” said Jake Goodyear, president of Propell Energy. “We have a vast renewable resource growing in our own backyards that can revolutionize the way we heat. With it we can reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, significantly lower CO2 emissions, as well as lower overall heating costs."

The conference included technology presentations and demonstrations, interactive discussions, expert panels, networking and the opportunity to learn about and explore the potential for expansion of the biomass energy industry in the Northeast.

New Hampshire Governor John Lynch, a leading advocate for renewable energy in the state, John Peterson, former congressman and alternative energy retailer, and Steve Walker, president of New England Wood Pellet, opened the conference.
