UA ‘Green Trailer’ To Debut At The 2011 AHR EXPO

The United Association will be showcasing its Sustainable Technologies Demonstration Training Trailer at the 2011 AHR Expo.


WESTPORT, CONN — The United Association (UA), a multi-craft union representing plumbers, pipefitters, sprinkler fitters and HVACR service technicians throughout North America, will be showcasing its Sustainable Technologies Demonstration Training Trailer at the 2011 AHR Expo in Las Vegas, January 31 – February 2.

Designed to highlight sustainable systems that could be included in a USGBC LEED Green Building Certification System Platinum Rated Building, the trailer is fully functional and interactive so AHR Expo attendees can experience the systems‘ proper installation and operation. Green HVACR, plumbing, fire prevention and energy systems are all featured in the Demo Center.

The specific sustainable technologies that are demonstrated within the trailer include:

• Solar energy production and storage
• Solar water heating
• Radiant floor heating system
• Radiant ceiling heating & cooling system
• Geo-thermal heat pump system
• Heat pump water pre-heat system
• Air purification system
• Desiccant low humidity system
• Package terminal air conditioner – zone cooling system
• Energy efficient appliances
• High efficiency/low flow plumbing fixtures and faucets – residential & commercial
• Gray water system
• Rainwater catchment system
• Fire prevention mist system
• Green building design display
• High efficiency HVAC motor display

Since it was created almost two years ago, the Demonstration Trailer has visited nearly three dozen states and trained over 2,000 professionals as part of UA’s Green Awareness Training Program. This mobile demonstration trailer has been utilized throughout North America by the UA and has been seen by over 40,000 individuals at various industry events”.

“The UA Sustainable Technologies Demonstration Center will be a valuable addition to the Show,” said Clay Stevens, President of International Exposition Company, which produces and manages the AHR EXPO. “Visitors to AHR Expo will find a wealth of sustainable and energy efficient resources both on the Show floor and in the conference program.” Stevens added that many exhibitors would be showcasing sustainable products and technologies including, solar, geothermal, radiant heating and cooling, and much more.

The 2011 AHR Expo will take place January 31– February 2, at the Las Vegas Convention Center and will feature more than 1,800 exhibitors from around the world showcasing hundreds and hundreds of innovative new products to over 45,000 attendees and exhibitor personnel. The 2011 AHR Expo is endorsed by 32 leading HVACR industry associations and is co-sponsored by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI). The Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) is an honorary sponsor. ASHRAE's winter meeting is held concurrently with the AHR Expo each year.
