HARRISBURG, PA. – Justin McClure, president and CEO of Daflure Heating, Cooling and Solar, one of Harrisburg’s oldest and most respected residential and light-commercial mechanical contractors specializing in HVAC, geothermal and solar systems, announces the completion of a merger and long-term acquisition of commercial industrial mechanical services provider O.L. Jacobs’ and Sons, Inc. Both Daflure and O.L. Jacobs are privately-held, family-owned companies based in Central Pennsylvania. The acquisition signifies a strategy for growth and expansion between two independent entities with similar cultural philosophies that stress client responsiveness; advocate innovative solutions to technical challenges; and provide ongoing professional development.

“We are pleased to announce this merger of two industry leaders with over 80-years combined experience to create a stronger company with enhanced market positioning and additional (commercial) services, while providing continued high-level services customers have come to rely on from both companies,” said McClure.

“Our companies have many similarities: both are privately held, family-owned and operated businesses with community involvement,” said Ray Jacobs, owner of O.L. Jacobs. “I am proud the commercial industrial services business my father created in 1945 will strengthen and compliment the residential and light commercial HVAC services the McClure brand has created over the past generations. This merger is the result of long-term succession planning to align O.L. Jacobs with the right partner to ensure the future well-being of our employees and customers. Our businesses have had a long-term relationship and Daflure is a partner in every sense of the word.”

Daflure will continue operating under the Daflure name, and from their existing facility located at 22 8th Street in New Cumberland. The twelve-person O.L. Jacobs staff will relocate to Daflure’s facility on December 15, 2010 and has been offered employment at Daflure; there are no anticipated job losses. Ray Jacobs will become Vice President.
“Our staff is looking forward to the merger and the addition of new commercial services. We have been involved in joint-venture projects for the last 18-months, allowing the merger process to remain positive and less cumbersome. In addition to expanded services, the merger will also allow for long-term clarity for stakeholders, diversification and increased intellectual capital.”

Daflure’s services have widely included heating, cooling, geothermal and solar services to residential and light commercial clients in the Central Pennsylvania area. Merging with O.L. Jacobs will increase Daflure’s services to also include:
