CHICAGO — The Storehouse of World Vision hosted its 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Crystal Vision Award Breakfast on April 17, 2010, during the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show here.
The event honored Globe Union and Hajoca Corp. for humanitarian efforts benefiting American families in need. Michael Werner, president and CEO of Globe Union and Roy Pitts, the national director of vendor relations and purchasing of Hajoca Corp. were both at the event to receive the award.
Globe Union was selected for its generous donation of products to underprivileged families, the support of World Vision’s School Tools program, and for having consistent, long-term involvement with the Storehouse. Hajoca Corp. was honored for their steadfast support of disadvantaged communities. Hundreds of Hajoca’s retail locations made World Vision their key charity.
These two industry leaders were recognized for their outstanding commitment to displaying vision, leadership and efforts to improve housing and community facilities that support World Vision’s mission of serving children and families affected by poverty.
World Vision’s Storehouse network is comprised of nine warehouses across the U.S. that receives corporate donations of new, top-quality goods made available to local community partners for distribution. Goods that are distributed include building materials, school supplies, personal care items, and clothing to more than 1.6 million people in low-income communities annually.
