Nancy Jones, executive director of the Associated Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors of Texas, was named 2005 Association Executives Council Spectrum Award winner during the recent Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors — National Association’s convention in Orlando, Fla. The AEC Spectrum Award honors outstanding achievement as a PHCC association executive. Betty Gill, PHCC Tennessee executive director, received a special award from AEC during the PHCC annual business meeting. The award was in recognition of her 25 years of service to PHCC. Also during the meeting, new officers of the Association Executives Council of PHCC were installed. They are: President Brenda Dant, Indiana PHCC, Indianapolis; President-elect Bev Potts, Illinois PHCC, Springfield; Secretary Kevin Kruse, Iowa PHCC; and Treasurer Linda Lindsten, Oregon PHCC, Clackamas.

Bryan Stansell, president and owner of Stamar Inc., Atlanta, was named the 2005 Trane/PHCC HVAC Contractor of the Year at the recent PHCC annual convention. Stansell, nominated by the Plumbing and Mechanical Association of Georgia, is known for bringing innovative technology and management practices to his company, which has been in business 80 years. Also as the convention, Francis A. “Fran” Williams, president of F.A. Williams Inc., of Belmont, Mass., received the Col. George D. Scott award for meritorious service.

KSW Inc. has announced that Chief Executive Officer Floyd Warkol has signed a new two-year employment agreement to remain as CEO of the company and its subsidiary, KSW Mechanical Services, through 2007. Warkol, who also serves as chairman of the company's board of directors, has been the CEO of KSW since its inception in 1994 and has more than 35 years’ experience in the mechanical contracting industry.

Nancy McNabb has joined the Washington office of the National Fire Protection Association as director of government affairs, effective immediately. McNabb previously served as the NFPA’s building code regional manager, central field office, in Dallas.

IAPMO has hired Lynne Simnick to fill the position of north regional manager recently created in response to increased demand for codes and services in North America. The International Code Council as the staff secretariat to the International Plumbing Code Development Committee most recently employed her. Bill Schweitzer has been hired by IAPMO as manager of the north central region. He was formerly chief plumbing inspector for the city of Topeka, Kan.
