Yorba Linda, Calif. & Mississauga, Ontario — Now in its 14th edition, the Maximum Performance (MaP) testing report provides performance information on more than 1,000 different toilet fixture models, including WaterSense certified high-efficiency toilets.
This updated edition supersedes all earlier editions. Important changes or additions made since the 13th edition include approximately 140 new toilet fixture models, bringing the total measured for flush performance to approximately 1,000 models. Also, some of the new fixture models are listed more than once, particularly if they are being marketed and sold through more than one distribution or retail channel.
In accordance with the terms of MaP testing, all models that were tested more than four years prior to this report were deleted from the report with the following exceptions: some previously tested models have been retested and thereby retained their listing, some models were certified by the manufacturer as identical to the originally tested model and will be re-tested at a future date, and some models were discontinued by their manufacturer.
The MaP testing project was undertaken in 2003 to identify how toilet models perform using a realistic test media, a soybean paste, developed by water-efficiency and plumbing fixture specialists in the U.S. and Canada. The test media closely replicates the “real world demand” upon fixtures.
