THE PLUMBING, HEATING and Cooling Contractors Association of Lake and McHenry Counties, Ill., has named David Ariano of Ravinia Plumbing and Heating in Highland Park, Ill., president for the term beginning in 2005. Tom Swartz of Swartz Plumbing, Gurnee, Ill., was named vice president. Tom Mahoney of Mahoney Plumbing, Highwood, Ill., was named secretary. Leonard Valerio of Ravinia Plumbing was re-elected treasurer.

The Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Association of Northern Illinois has elected three directors to serve one-year terms: Barry Thomas of Barry Thomas Plumbing, Lisle, Ill., who has been elected both director and secretary; Peter Fazio Jr. of P.J. Fazio Plumbing and Heating, Roselle, Ill.; and Jack Skirmont of Skirmont Mechanical Contractors, Elgin, Ill.

The Wisconsin Fox Valley Sheet Metal Contractors Association elected the following officers: president, Rick Bushey of Mechanical Technologies, Green Bay, Wis.; vice president, Rick Hayes of E.G.I. Mechanical, Greenville, Wis.; secretary/treasurer, Mark Loper of Azco, Appleton, Wis.; and board members, Brad Baumgart of Baumgart Mechanical, Kaukauna, Wis., and Jarvis Perkins of Balco Services, Greenville. David C. Seitz continues to serve as executive vice president.

The Mechanical Contractors Association of North Central Wisconsin elected the following officers: president, Robert F. Fischer of the J.F. Ahern Co., Fond du Lac; vice president, Donald Tennie of E.G.I. Mechanical, Greenville; and secretary/treasurer Mark Loper of Azco, Appleton. Board members elected at the meeting were: William Bassett, Basset Mechanical, Kaukauna; James Beno, Beno Plumbing, Green Bay; Gary Martin, August Winter & Sons, Appleton; Dean Reinke, Hurckman Mechanical, Green Bay; Rick Kampo, R.J. Kampo Plumbing & Heating, Appleton; Alan Dvorak, Aldag/Honald Mechanical, Sheboygan; Jarvis Perkins, Balco Services, Greenville; and Michael Sturdivant, Tweet/Garot Mechanical, Green Bay. David C. Seitz continues to serve as executive vice president.

The Mechanical Contractors Association of Northwest Wisconsin has elected its officers for the coming year. They are: president, Joe Hengel, Hengel Brothers, La Crosse; vice president, Jim Eron, Eron & Gee/Hermans Plumbing & Heating, Wisconsin Rapids; secretary, Ron Kohls, Kohls Plumbing & Heating, Vesper; and treasurer, Mike Merryfield, Mechanical Inc., Tomahawk. Board members are: Charles Falch, Bartingale Mechanical, Eau Claire; Tom Kempf, George Baumgardt Plumbing & Heating, Wausau; Brad Kita, Malbrit Heating/ Cooling/Plumbing, Wausau; Mike Schultz, Coulee Region Mechanical, La Crosse; and John Swenson, Sheet Metal Enterprises, Chetek. Gail Gerhardt serves as executive director. Amanda Lau and Paula Anhalt have won Mechanical Contractors Association of Northwest Wisconsin Industry Fund Scholarship Awards in the amount of $1,000 each.

Patrick J. Murphy Jr. has been promoted to president of St. Louis mechanical contractor Murphy Co. Murphy had been senior vice president/sales and marketing, leading the firm’s business development initiatives in all markets served by the firm. Since 2000, he has served on the company’s board of directors with James J. Murphy Jr., chairman, and David Hardin, executive vice president. Bill Skidmore has joined the Denver office of Murphy Co. He previously headed Skidmore Inc., which since 1996 completed $140 million of sheet metal work in Colorado. Kathy Johnson has been promoted to human resources director at Murphy Co. Johnson joined the company in 1995 as executive administrative assistant, most recently serving as office manager (the responsibilities of which she will retain).

Gerald A. Gallagher recently joined heating and air conditioning contractor Climate Zone as a plumber. The company is a recognized Lennox dealer.

EMCOR Group has named Anthony R. Triano vice president/integrated services. Triano joined the company in 1987, serving most recently as executive vice president of the company’s facilities services subsidiary. EMCOR Facilities Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of EMCOR Group, has named Willis Richard Baker as manager of its Arlington, Va.-based Environmental Control Center. Baker comes to EMCOR from Hewlett Packard, where he established and managed that company’s IT help desk center for federal contracts.

Executive Plumbing, Heating and Air, Corona, Calif., has promoted Marty Martinez to director/HVAC sales and Rob Robertson to corporate director/purchasing. Martinez joined Executive Plumbing in 2001. Previously, Robertson managed multi-branch operations within the building supply industry, serving as vice president for Familian Corp. and Westbourne Supply Co.

Melissa McGinnis-Russo was promoted to manager of the Applied Engineering Group, and Mark D. Edwards was hired as a senior project engineer at St. Louis-based C&R Mechanical Co. McGinnis-Russo joined the company in 2003 as project engineer. Edwards most recently was a mechanical systems designer at Rock Hill Mechanical Co.

Art Dexter of LeDuc & Dexter, Santa Rosa, Calif., has been elected chairman of the Construction Contractors’ Alliance, an enhanced service group of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association. Dexter, who is a charter member of CCA, was elected during a recent meeting in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. He will serve a one-year term. Also elected during the meeting to the CCA board of trustees were Les DenHerder, HPS Mechanical, Bakersfield, Calif., and Greg Kozan, Ridgeway Plumbing, Boynton Beach, Fla. Departing trustees who completed their terms during the meeting were Chairman Dickie McCurdy, MMM Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning, Amarillo, Texas; Richard Hallinan, Executive Plumbing, Heating & Air, Corona, Calif.; and Jim Johnson, Tatro Plumbing, Garden City, Kan.

Patty Frank of Milton Frank Plumbing Co., Spring, Texas, was elected chairperson of the Quality Service Contractors at a recent QSC Power Meeting in Savannah, Ga. Keith Bienvenu of Bienvenu Brothers, Metairie, La., was elected vice chair. Doug Santoro, General Plumbing, West Palm Beach, Fla., was elected to serve his first three-year term as a trustee, and Tom Maniuszko, Day-Night Plumbing & Heating Co., Richmond Hill, N.Y., was re-elected to a second three-year term. Frank replaces Maniuszko, who was QSC chairperson the past year.

Tim Williford of Southern Piping Co., Wilson, N.C., has been appointed as the new chairman of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association’s Government Relations Committee.

The Florida Institute of Technology Alumni Association awarded the Outstanding Advocate Award to Al Osterhout, president of Coastal Mechanical Services, for his support of the Florida Institute of Technology Construction Industry Advisory Board.

Jeffery Mertz was recently elected president of the Associated Master Plumbers of Green Bay, Wis., for a two-year term. He is the owner of R.J. Parins Plumbing & Heating. Other elected officers include vice president, Richard Lund, Reeke Marold Co., and secretary/treasurer, Rick Kummers, Vern Kummers Plumbing.

Manufacturers

Viega North America has appointed Tom Shields to regional manager for the Northeast region. He has been with the company since 2002, most recently as district manager.

The Elkay division of Elkay Manufacturing Co. has named Stephen C. Rodgers vice president/engineering. He joins the company after more than 27 years with the Inland Steel Co. where he held various managerial positions. Donna Horowitz has been named vice president/human resources. She was most recently with Underwriters Laboratories and Motorola.

Ridge Tool hired Steven D. Dyer as director/marketing communications.

Anderson Metals, a manufacturer of brass fittings, valves and pipe nipples, has hired Jerry Mitchell as national sales manager.

Orion Fittings has named Mike Potts product development engineer. Potts previously served as president of Enfield Industrial Corp.

Milwaukee Valve Corp. President and CEO Rick Giannini has been named to co-chair the new Aircraft Carrier Industrial Base Coalition. The coalition is a national organization dedicated to ensuring the continued strength of the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier industry. He will serve for two years.

A.O. Smith has named Steve Anderson vice president/operations. Robert Grussing IV has been named vice president and CFO of the company’s water products division. Most recently, Grussing was president of Weil-McLain. Kenneth R. Jarosz has been named vice president/global materials. Before joining A.O. Smith he was vice president/Asian operations for Emerson Hermetic Motor Co.
