Peculiar, Mo. — The Sioux Chief Co. recently hosted a plant tour for more than 50 mechanical and plumbing contractors here. The event included an invitation for everyone to attend the Sunday NFL game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals (the host Chiefs won). After the game, contractors were taken back to their Kansas City hotel and then treated to an authentic Kansas City Barbecue dinner at Jack Stack's restaurant.

Early the next morning, a caravan of vans headed south to the Sioux Chief plant and headquarters. The day began with a breakfast and presentation highlighting the 50th anniversary history of Sioux Chief.

The contractors, mostly from three different western offices of Dynamic Plumbing Corp., were given a narrated plant tour complete with a personal radio transmitter for each person. The tour illustrated how many of the Sioux Chief products are made directly at the plant.

After the tour, the contractors were treated to lunch in the Sioux Chief Theatre/Conference Room, which doubled as a mini trade show around the room's perimeter. Contractors were able to go around to each of the five categories of products and ask questions of each of the specific product managers manning the booths.

The afternoon wrapped up with a contractor roundtable. Sioux Chief regularly uses feedback sessions like this one to make improvements on existing products and help in the development of new ones.
