This year, NAOHSM will focus on basic electricity with well-known industry expert Carol Fey.

EAST PETERSBURG, PA. — The National Association of Oilheating Service Managers’ mission is education and it strives to deliver high-quality, relevant materials and classes each year. Upwards of 40% of its operating budget is spent on education. Each year, NAOHSM chooses a topical subject and hires an expert to take classes on the road. This year, the association will focus on basic electricity with well-known industry expert Carol Fey.

CONTRACTOR magazine columnist Carol Fey is a degreed, technical trainer who has worked in the controls industry for more than 25 years. She has also written several books, including Quick & Basic Electricity, Quick & Basic Hydronic Controls, and Quick and Basic Troubleshooting. Additional information about her is available from www.carolfey.com.

NAOHSM is responsive to the educational needs of its members. When members requested more information about electricity, this year’s course topic was created. Attendees will learn the basics of electricity and gain more confidence to use test equipment properly, read and understand wiring diagrams, and troubleshoot both heating and air conditioning systems.

Classes will be held on April 19 in Baltimore; April 20 at Stevens Technical College in Lancaster, Pa.; April 22 in Pennsauken, N.J.; July 26 in Concord, N.H.; July 27 in Auburn, Mass.; and July 28 in Cromwell, Conn. Contractors can register for any of these classes at www.naohsm.org or by calling 888/552-0900.

It is not a requirement to be a NAOHSM member to attend any of its classes or its Annual Convention and Trade Show, taking place May 22-26, 2011, in Hershey, Pa. NAOHSM welcomes all contractors to join the association or “test drive” it by joining them for a class.
