Rochester, Minn.— Charles F. Hiley Jr., 57, an active leader of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association, PHCC Educational Foundation and a member of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America died Dec. 25, 2000, at home following recent heart surgery.
Hiley, owner of Rochester-based mechanical contracting company himec, was national PHCC secretary in 1994-95 and was a member of the national board of directors in 1993-95. He served two terms as chairman of the PHCC Educational Foundation’s Board of Governors in 1996-97 and 1997-98 and was serving as chairman of the Foundation Investment Management Committee.
He also was serving as a trustee and on key committees for the PHCC’s Union-Affiliated Contractors.
Hiley was instrumental in ensuring the foundation’s goal to become fiscally confident; expanded the foundation’s program offerings; introduced the new Labor Calculator V estimating reference tool; and continued the success of the Managing phc Projects course. He also added a fourth scholarship, the Chuck Hiley Sr. scholarship.
