Contractors EMCOR Group, Norwalk, Conn., has elected Mark Pompa as executive vice president and chief financial officer. He succeeds Leicle Chesser who has been appointed to the position of vice chairman of the company (he is scheduled to retire later this year). EMCOR Group, Norwalk, Conn., has elected Mark Pompa as executive vice president and chief financial officer. He succeeds Leicle Chesser who has been appointed to the position of vice chairman of the company (he is scheduled to retire later this year). Pompa previously was EMCOR's senior vice president/chief accounting officer and treasurer and will continue as treasurer. Michael W. Shelton has been named vice president/government services. He was previously the president of Burns and Roe Services Corp., with an extensive background in facilities and maintenance services.

The Nexstar Network, a member-owned training and development organization, has named Scott Pearson to fill the newly created position of new member development coach. Pearson has been with the organization for the past seven years. Susan Tigner has joined the Nexstar staff as strategic partner manager for the organization's Preferred Vendor Partnership Program. She has more than 25 years' experience in marketing, communications and contract management.

Les Denherder, HPS Mechanical, Bakersfield. Calif., has been elected chairman of the Construction Contractors' Alliance, an enhanced service group of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors - National Association. He will serve a one-year term. Barry Bankler of Gibson Plumbing Co., San Antonio, Texas, was elected to the CCA Board of Trustees for a three-year term. Other CCA trustees are 2005 Chairman Art Dexter, LeDuc & Dexter, Santa Rosa, Calif.; Shawn Erickson, C.J. Erickson Plumbing, Alsip, Ill.; Greg Kozan, Ridgeway Plumbing, Boynton Beach, Fla.; and Steve Irwin, Farmer & Irwin, Riviera Beach, Fla. Bob Price, Price Brothers, Charlotte, N.C., and Lake Wylie, S.C., just completed his three-year term as a trustee.

The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association has awarded a $2,000 scholarship for the 2005-06 academic year to Callie Thompson of Trenton, Mich. She is the daughter of David and Cynthia Thompson. David Thompson is employed by ChristenDetroit of Detroit, a member of SMACNA Metropolitan Detroit Chapter. The $2,000 Richard DeBrine endowment scholarship, which is funded by the Bay Area SMACNA chapter, has been awarded to Melissa Smuck of Rohnert Park, Calif., for the 2005-06 academic year. She is the daughter of Jim and Kimberly Smuck. Jim Smuck is employed by JMS Mechanical, Petaluma, Calif. SMACNA has awarded three College of Fellows Scholarships, each of $2,000 per academic year. The recipients are: Daniel Byrne III of Vacaville, Calif.; Patrick Gallo of Norwood, Pa.; and Anthony Sericati of Iron Mountain, Mich. LA-CO Industries sent three groups of customers to see their local NFL teams in December 2005 as the winners of its Fall 2005 Slic-Tite promotion. They are: Greg Skudlarek of Garfield, Minn., the owner of Northern Climate Control and an instructor at the local vocational-technical school; Andy Casey of Edgerton, Wis., owner of Team Heating; and Richard Gebka, foreman at F.E. Moran in Lemont, Ill.

Colleen Salomon, senior writer and editor for IAPMO's Official magazine, was to receive the Boger Award of the Construction Writers Association May 4 during CWA's annual meeting in Washington. The award, the oldest one presented by the CWA, was given for her article "Delta Dilemma," which reported on the pumping system in Louisiana and Hurricane Katrina. It appeared in the November/December 2005 edition of IAPMO's membership magazine.

Vendors

Weil-McLain has named Tony Curran Sr. as its vice president/sales. Curran began his career with the company in 1977 as a sales representative. He was most recently the general manager of Williamson-Thermoflo, a sister company of Weil-McLain. Bob Muser has rejoined Weil-McLain as the Eastern regional sales manager. He had been with the company since 1977. Scott Schreeg has been promoted to commercial product manager on the Weil-McLain marketing team. Schreeg has been with the company since 1997, most recently as quality manager.

Jack Krecek, formerly vice president and general manager of the Elkay water cooler division has been named vice president/marketing, North America, plumbing products division. He has been with the company for 21 years. Jeff Valles, formerly a sales and marketing executive at Phylrich International, a recent Elkay acquisition, has been named marketing manager/ faucets, for Elkay's total faucet business. Valles began his career at Phylrich in 1979. Donna Chen has been named by the Elkay plumbing products division as its market intelligence and research manager. Previously, Chen worked with Hewitt Associates where she directed competitive research.

Blanco has appointed Don Farquhar as logistics and supply chain distribution manager. He began with Blanco in 1991 as a warehouse manager and served most recently as operations manager. Amy L. Larson has been hired to fill the newly created position of senior product manager. She has served in related positions at Kohler and Everpure.

Everpure has promoted Eleni Yianas to director of residential marketing. She has been with the company since 1998, most recently as senior marketing manager.

Ron Pace has been appointed to president/Kohler Kitchen & Bath Americas and will lead the newly formed K&B Americas organization. Pace joined the company in 1995 and led the acquisitions of Robern and Canac. He became president/ Plumbing Americas in 2002. Frank Windsor has been appointed vice president/sales for Plumbing Americas, within the Kitchen & Bath Americas organization, replacing Pace. He has been with the company since 1990. Ralph Howard has been named president/ Canac, a part of Kohler's new K&B Americas organization. Howard has been vice president/sales for Kohler Plumbing Americas since 2002.

Onset Computer Corp., has appointed Jack Sample as president. Sample brings more than 28 years of sales marketing, and operations management experience to Onset, having most recently served as the company's director of sales and marketing. Before joining Onset in 2002, he spent 24 years with Hewlett-Packard and Agilent Technologies.

StrionAir has appointed Reed Sarver as chief executive officer. Sarver brings more than 20 years of international management experience to the post. He was most recently group vice president at Pall Corp.

Bradford White recently announced the retirement of Anthony J. Maglione, who had been employed with Bradford White since 1966. During his 40 years of employment, Maglione held various positions in sales administration and international sales. With the retirement, James G. Resnick has been appointed to the position of director international sales. Resnick joined Bradford White in 1981 in the Philadelphia engineering department. He has held many positions including service manager, domestic product manager and international product manager.

Equiguard has hired Jeff Evans as vice president/sales and marketing for North America. During the past 22 years, Evans has been sales director for Magic Chef Air Conditioning and Dixie-Narco, commercial district manager for Lennox, marketing manager for Excel Comfort Systems, and, most recently, national sales director for Allied's Armstrong, Airease, Ducane and Concord brands.
