TORONTO — Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors - National Association will have its first woman president in a couple of years and also has its first African-American national officer.
PHCC-NA members elected Mary Garvelink of Commercial Design Engineering in Colorado Springs, Colo., as their vice president. She will take over as president at the association’s convention in the fall of 2004.
Eddie Hollub of Modern Plumbing Co. in Pasadena, Texas, was installed as president at the PHCC convention Oct. 29-31 here. He named as his secretary Willie Roberson of W. C. Roberson Plumbing in Buffalo, N.Y. Roberson is the first African-American on the PHCC executive committee. President-elect is Steve Carder of Carder Plumbing Co. in Sand Springs, Okla.
The new board members, who will serve three-year terms, are: James C. Finley of C.N. Finley Inc. in New Orleans, representing Alabama, Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi in Zone 2 and Calvert Lewallen of Cal’s Plumbing in Tucson, Ariz., representing Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada and Utah in Zone 4. Malcolm Sweet Jr. of Condaire Inc. in St. Louis, representing Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska in Zone 4, fills Garvelink’s unexpired term.
