    LOS ANGELES — Former “Tonight Show” announcer Ed McMahon filed a $20 million lawsuit in April against his home insurance company, which he claimed had mishandled a repair on a broken plumbing pipe.

    According to published reports, his suit names as plaintiffs the American Equity Insurance Co. and several Southern California contractors that had been hired to clean up the mold. The suit alleges that the faulty work allowed the toxic mold to spread through McMahon’s house, making his family sick and killing his dog.
