Onset announces free energy management training workshop

Onset has announced a free training workshop on how to identify energy waste in commercial facilities on March 16, 2011, in Quincy, Massachusetts.

BOURNE, MA, February 17, 2011 — Onset (http://www.onsetcomp.com), a supplier of data loggers, today announceda free training workshop on how to identify energy waste in commercial facilities on March 16, 2011, in Quincy, Massachusetts.

The live workshop will be presented by energy management expert Thomas Mort, CEM, a senior energy engineer with Comfort Systems USA. During the 2.5 hour workshop, participants will learn how to:

  • Collect and organize key information about facility energy use
  • Identify issues with building temperature setbacks, temperature swings, shut down of lights, etc.
  • Use data loggers to measure the performance of HVAC and lighting systems, motors, and compressed air systems

In addition, Mort will show potential cost savings as a result of more efficient shut-downschedules and how new machinery and controllers can pay for themselves in less than one year.

The workshop will be held at the Boston Marriott Quincy at 1000 Marriott Drive, Quincy, MA. Two sessions will be held; a morning session from 9:30am – 12:00 noon, and an afternoon session from 1:30pm – 4:00pm.

Worskhop participants will have access to free documentation detailing how to gather data and analyze data, as well as calculate cost savings for 15 forms of common building energy waste. Refreshments will be served, and all registrants will be entered into a drawing to win $500 worth of Onset HOBO® data logging equipment.
