BALTIMORE – Industry decision- and policy-makers will discuss “Breaking Through: Creating an Informed Energy-Efficiency Technology Marketplace” at the sixth Danfoss En-Visioneering symposium Oct. 23 in Washington.

Chandra Govindarajalu, senior environmental analyst for The World Bank, and Glenn Barrett, director of energy management for grocery retailer Supervalu, will headline the event.

Barrett will address “The Built Environment: An Informed End-User Perspective,” while Govindarajalu will discuss “Education for Energy Efficiency: Experience Abroad.” Their presentations will be complemented by two sessions: “Assessing Results: Reports from the Energy Efficiency Frontier” and “EnVisioneering Symposia: The Year in Review, What’s on Deck for 2008?”

“Creating a 21st century culture of energy efficiency starts with effective steps to educate key players in the marketplace,” said John Galyen, president of Danfoss Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning, North America.

“This symposium will explore what it takes to move the marketplace, build awareness, establish trust and drive deployment of innovations that can tap deeply into the reservoir of potential energy savings.”

Galyen again will host the symposium and will lead the final session, “EnVisioneering Symposia: The Year in Review, What’s on Deck for 2008?” The event is being co-organized by Global Strategy Initiative, a Washington- based consulting firm, and Godfrey, a Lancaster, Pa.-based marketing communications firm.

This is the third symposium Danfoss will host this year and the sixth in the past two years.

Previous symposia covered the following topics: “Innovation and the Emerging Energy Challenge”; “The Future of Energy Efficiency: The Role of States”; “Energy Futures: America Responds to 21st Century Energy Challenges”; “Building Global Energy-Efficient Solutions”; “Making Dollars and Sense of Energy Efficiency: A Focus on Conservation.”

At the Oct. 23 event, Danfoss will detail symposia events planned for 2008.
