Licensed GreenPlumbers commit to training every employee in the areas of climate and water care, conservation and solar, and abide by the program's code of ethics. Speedway President Bryan Huneycutt says he joined GreenPlumbers, “To help in water conservation, and to educate myself to provide better leadership within the company.”

Shaw Mechanical Services LLC has completed contracts at two schools in the Orange County Public Schools' district. Under contract with Walker & Co. of Winter Park, Fla., Shaw Mechanical completed its $1.8 million contract for the new 103,000-sq.ft., two-story Timber Lakes Elementary School located in East Orlando, Fla. The company took just six weeks to complete its $400,000 contract with general contractor Wharton-Smith Inc. of Sanford, Fla., for HVAC renovations and retrofits at Jones High School in Orlando, Fla.

Orlando-based Mechanical Services Inc., an EMCOR company, continues a tradition of corporate giving to Frontline Outreach with its 24th Annual MSI-Frontline Golf Benefit on October 17. MSI and its numerous business partners have contributed more than $425,000 to the Orlando-based charitable organization since the inception of the event, raising over $60,000 last year alone. The benefit will be held at the Orange County National Golf Center, and more than 200 people are expected to attend.

During the month of October, users who recycle any power tool battery at one of the DeWalt tool company's 87 service centers will receive a $10 discount on battery purchases. The Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corp., a non-profit public service organization, has provided DeWalt with recycling bins where users can recycle nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride and lithium ion batteries.
