FALLS CHURCH, VA. — The Educational Foundation of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association debuted its new “Essentials of PHC Project Management” course in January to strong reviews.

Twenty-six contractors attended the course, conducted by the Foundation at the National Conference Center outside Washington. The course’s three instructors supplied participants with information on such topics as managing labor risk, using the contract as a management tool, conducting turnover meetings, managing cash flow, and project close-out procedures.

The Educational Foundation previously offered the project management course at Purdue University for six years. Following a year of revising and updating the curriculum, in January the Foundation unveiled an improved program with a new format. The class is being offered at several regionally accessible sites across the country.

Remaining courses scheduled for this year include Essentials of PHC Project Management, May 21-24, San Jose, Calif., and Advanced PHC Project Management, Aug. 20-23, in Indianapolis.
