Nearly ninety attendees from the plumbing-heating-cooling industry filled a ballroom in Minneapolis last week to participate in a charity video game event. The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors—National Association (PHCC) Educational Foundation hosted its second annual “Party Lounge” fundraiser as part of the CONNECT 2011 tradeshow and national convention. The players and sponsors helped to raise an estimated $7,000 to benefit the Foundation’s educational mission.
Six large projection screens lined a wall of the hotel ballroom at the event, each screen loaded with a Nintendo Wii video game ready to play. Attendees competed head-to-head in golf, racing, boxing, bowling and other party games. Several contests and dozens of prizes added extra excitement to the evening. Proceeds from the event will aid the PHCC Educational Foundation’s mission of providing high-quality education and training to the p-h-c industry. A photo gallery of the event will be available through the Foundation’s web site at phccfoundation.org.
“We had so much fun with these games last year, we brought them back,” said Foundation Chairperson Bill Jones. “And while the attendees had a great time, they also did their part to support the Foundation and education for our industry.”
The following sponsors stepped to the plate to make this year’s event a success: Ferguson, Moen and NIBCO generously provided food and beverages for attendees. Armstrong Pumps, Ferguson, Legend Valve, Maxwell Systems and Rheem Water Heaters sponsored game stations and event contests. Barnett Pro Systems, Flexcon Industries, Legend Valve and Wheeler Rex provided prizes great prizes for the players.
