NORWALK, CONN. — Fagan Co., an EMCOR Group Inc. subsidiary, recently received a contract for the installation of the mechanical systems for a major retrofit at the new headquarters for Kansas City Power and Light, Kansas City, Mo.
Fagan will be responsible for HVAC and plumbing system refurbishment and installation associated with 11.5 floors (230,000-sq.ft.) in KCP&L’s headquarters facility in downtown Kansas City. The scope of work includes refurbishment of existing air handling units as well as installation of distribution ducts, fan-powered boxes, fan coil units, sound attenuators, grilles and diffusers.
The company will also install temperature controls, plumbing and new fixtures. Additionally, work includes modifying piping to accommodate the raised floor air distribution, connecting to existing chilled water air handling units for cooling and ventilation, and providing electric heat in the new fan powered boxes. The building has been designed to meet LEED Gold standards as determined by the U.S. Green Building Council.
