ASHLAND CITY, TENN. — A. O. Smith donated two ProStar tankless on-demand gas water heaters in August to the Yucca Council Boy Scouts, serving west Texas and southern New Mexico, for use at one of its campsites.
"A.O. Smith's donation of these water heaters means so much to the Yucca Council," said Karen Edmonston, Yucca Council training chairperson. "Our problem of having to replace conventional water heaters every other year has been solved. I'm sure our campers will be grateful for hot show-ers during their camping experience. There is no reason our sons cannot be clean at camp, except for the fact that they are boys."
The water heaters were to be used for the first time during Boy Scout Wood Badge Training. About 70 adults participate in the sessions, the highest level of training an adult volunteer can receive.
The ProStar tankless gas water heater series provides 3 to 6 GPM of hot water on demand. The gas water heaters are suitable for add-on bathrooms, whirlpool tubs and small vacation homes, offering convenient mounting options and an optional remote control, said David Chisolm, brand manager.
"We are glad to donate our innovative products to help communities," he said. "The Boy Scouts' organization does tremendous work for our country's youth, and this is just one way we can contribute to their mission."
