EAST PETERSBURG, PA. — Oil-heat service technicians will compete in a “Diagnostic Challenge” May 13 and 14 at the National Association of Oil Heating Service Managers Annual Convention and Trade Show in Hartford, Conn.

The new contest will be added to NAOHSM’s three-year-old Hands-on Burner Skills Competition, which tests students and technicians in disassembling and reassembling popular oil burner brands. The Burner Skills Contest will be offered again to students this year, while the more demanding Diagnostic Challenge will be open to service technicians. Service techs will be asked to diagnose a faulty situation in a control board, for example, and then be asked to fix the problem.

Registration for both contests is on site each day of the event at the designated contest area. Daily prizes will be awarded to winners of each contest.
