ASHLAND CITY, TN — State Water Heaters (statewaterheaters.com) has announced the winner of a $2,500 scholarship for students pursuing plumbing-heating-cooling related studies.
The 2014 scholarship recipient is David Sadin of San Diego, Calif. He is working full-time at Bill Howe Plumbing, Inc. and is enrolled at the PHCC Apprentice Academy of San Diego. His instructors commend his love of learning and level of commitment as keys to his future success in the plumbing industry.
“State Water Heaters believes in supporting those in our profession, especially as they are getting their start,” said Jeff Storie, senior manager of contractor and consumer marketing for State Water Heaters. “Helping an apprentice with the cost of getting good training is one way we deliver that support.”
The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (PHCC) Educational Foundation administers the scholarship program and is responsible for selecting the award winners. The scholarship program is designed to attract the new talent essential to the future of the plumbing and HVACR industry.
To qualify for a PHCC Educational Foundation scholarship (phccfoundation.org/scholarships), students must submit a detailed application including a letter of recommendation from an active member of the PHCC—National Association and enroll in a plumbing-heating-cooling related course of study or apprentice program such as business management, construction management or science specializing in mechanical construction or mechanical engineering.
