Emerson announces new business leadership appointment

RACINE, WI — Emerson today announced the appointment of Chad Severson as President of its InSinkErator business, the leading manufacturer of food waste disposers and instant hot water dispensers, headquartered in Racine, Wisconsin.  Severson had been president of Emerson Tool Co.  

Severson succeeds Tim Ferry, who will serve in a new role as Emerson’s group vice president for Tools and Home Products.   

“Chad Severson brings strong management skills, professionalism and industry leadership to his new role within Emerson. His team will continue to drive innovation and new growth for InSinkErator,” Ferry said.

Severson began his career at Emerson in 1992 as a manager in market analysis for Copeland Corporation, where he eventually became vice president of marketing. Severson left Emerson for three years to serve in various sales and marketing positions with Kohler Co., and returned to Emerson in 2005 as Knaack’s vice president of marketing and product development.  In 2006 he was appointed president of Knaack and named president of Emerson Tool Co. in 2011.  

Severson received his BS in management from the US Air Force Academy, and he holds an MBA from the Ohio State University.
