AKRON, OHIO — Utility FirstEnergy Corp. has sold Spectrum Control Systems, a specialty mechanical contractor based in Cincinnati, to Energy Conservation Services in Shelby, Ohio.
FirstEnergy’s mechanical contracting subsidiary, FirstEnergy Facilities Services Group, acquired Spectrum in October 1998.
Spectrum has 37 employees, produced $5.4 million in sales in 2004, and serves customers in Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus, Ohio. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
ECS is owned by Shelby Industries, which also owns building automation specialist Thermaltec Sales.
