ROLLING MEADOWS, ILL. — Plumbing Manufacturers International joined 11 other members of the Plumbing Industry Leadership Coalition on a coalition letter to the entire Senate urging their co-sponsorship of The WaterSense Efficiency, Conservation, and Adaptation Act of 2014 (S. 2226).
The WaterSense measure, supported by PMI and introduced by Senator Tom Udall (D-NM), seeks to improve U.S. water use efficiency and promote smart water systems to help communities across the nation make significant progress in conserving water and reducing costs. The legislation is designed to promote residential water efficiency through state rebate and incentive programs. Most importantly it would authorize the Environmental Protection Agency’s WaterSense program, a public-private partnership water efficiency program.
PILC was cofounded in 2012 by PMI, the American Society of Plumbing Engineers and the International Association of Plumbing & Mechanical Officials. It now includes 14 industry associations. The coalition addresses topics such as aging infrastructure, maximizing water efficiency, and is united in its aim to provide true and accurate information to the public on the importance of clean, safe, and reliable water.
The other PILC members signing onto the letter included Alliance for Water Efficiency, American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association, ASPE, American Supply Association, Copper Development Association Inc., IAPMO, International Code Council, Mechanical-Hub, Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors – National Association, United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States, Canada, and Australia, and the Water Quality Association.
PMI names Stuhrberg
In a separate announcement, Barbara C. Higgens, PMI’s CEO/Executive Director, announced the promotion of Jodi Stuhrberg to association manager.
“Jodi is a tremendous asset to our organization,” Higgens said. “During her short tenure at PMI, she has already added significant value and we are delighted to have her as part of our team.”
Stuhrberg joined PMI in December 2013 as association coordinator. Her responsibilities include project management, meeting/event planning and overseeing day-to-day operations.
“Working with PMI has been very rewarding,” Stuhrberg said. “While my skills have been embraced, they have also been enhanced working with the talented members of this team. I wear many hats and the team has been extremely helpful and encouraging as I continue to grow professionally at PMI and join them in making a difference in the industry. Thanks to everyone for the warm reception I’ve received the last six months. I’m excited to see what the future holds.”
