It’s great to have educated customers, but what about a customer who likes to get their hands dirty and get involved in projects? The Idaho Press featured an article on some of the biggest mistakes made on do-it-yourself jobs, including trying to circumvent the rules and laws to make the job easier.

Whether they are the laws of gravity or your local building codes, you have to follow the rules. Different areas have different requirements so it's important to understand your obligations before you start. Idaho, for example, has an entire plumbing division of building safety. The objective is to protect citizens from plumbing mishaps "by ensuring that plumbing practices are in compliance with the Uniform Plumbing Code."
