GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Mechanical contractor Andy J. Egan Co. (Egan) has again been recognized as one of “West Michigan’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For,” having earned its fifth elite award and making its ninth appearance on the annual list.

Only 11 of the 101 companies are honored with elite awards, and this year, Egan earned one of these prestigious spots for its “Communication and Shared Vision.” The award is given to the company best demonstrating effective exchange of information from senior leaders to employees, and where employees are given a platform to communicate opinions, ideas, issues and concerns. Egan was a recipient of the same award in 2010, and in previous years, the company earned the “Best of the Best” and “Best Small Business” elite awards.

The Michigan Business Professionals Association (MBPA), which administers the awards program, uses an independent research firm to select the top companies based on innovative and thoughtful human resources approaches. On May 7 at the JW Marriot in Grand Rapids, the elite winners were revealed and all 101 companies were honored for their achievements.

Founded in 1919, Andy J. Egan Co. (www.andyegan.com) offers engineering, fabrication, mechanical insulation, controls and 24/7 service for commercial, industrial and institutional applications.
