Michael “Machine Gun Mike” Graziose, Vice President of Graziose Plumbing and Heating, Inc., and The Valley Fireplace, both located in Locust Valley, will be fighting in this year’s Long Island Fight for Charity.

Graziose’s parents started the plumbing business in 1973 to support their growing family. “Through hard work my parents succeeded. They taught me everything I needed to know about business and success in life. In 2012 my brother Robert and I opened The Valley Fireplace. I continue to work in the plumbing business with my mother and brother 42 years later,” said Michael.

Fight for Charity is the only event of its type in the country in which businesspeople step into the boxing ring to fight in order to sustain important charity programs. This year the goal is to raise over $200,000 and attract over 1,200 people to the 12th Main Event. To date, Fight for Charity has donated nearly $1 million to Long Island charities.

Graziose, who chose the ring name “Machine Gun Mike,” is among the 26 businessmen and businesswomen selected to be volunteer boxers in the popular Long Island Fight for Charity. Graziose is now committed to training, boxing and supporting the organization’s fundraising goal for the 12th Main Event scheduled for Monday, November 23, at the Long Island Hilton in Melville.

“As a way of honoring my late father, my son and I started to box. When younger I watched boxing matches on TV with my father and wanted to try the sport someday. I appreciate the encouragement of my family friends, Michael and Jeanne Marie Ricigliano. The decision to box in the Fight for Charity offers me a huge opportunity to help individuals who are struggling and families with needs.  It has been a great experience training at Glen Cove Boxing Club with my trainers Frank Pena and Tony Cruceta.  Also, I have been lucky to have my dear friend and weight trainer Jose Morales pushing me to the limit,” added Graziose.

The mission of Long Island Fight for Charity is to raise funds for the Long Island Community Chest (LICC), The Genesis School and the National Foundation for Human Potential and other charities. LICC is a nonprofit organization charged with helping families that are struggling to overcome life’s challenges.
