DALLAS – The Service Roundtable has announced the release of Windshield University, an audio training program for plumbing and air conditioning contractors designed to be listened to while driving. The first issue will be offered free.

Produced and narrated by radio personality, Stubie Doak, Windshield University features two CDs per issue. Disc 1 highlights several topics from the Service Roundtable's peer-to-peer contractor discussion lists. Students of Windshield U will hear how the best contractors in the country tackle the most perplexing problems of the day.

Disc 1 also contains a variety of industry news items. Occasionally irreverent, o˚beat, and amusing, the news items are selected to keep contractors up to speed with the latest trends in the worlds of plumbing and air conditioning.

Disc 2 contains an inter view with a leading figure from the worlds of plumbing and air conditioning and a speaker who will present an educational topic. For the first issue of Wind-shield U, Charlie "Tec Daddy " Greer is interviewed and Service Roundtable CEO Matt Michel presents strategies contractors can use to grab market share and boost sales in a soft market.

"Contractors, technicians, plumbers, and sales professionals spend a lot of time behind the wheel between calls," said Michel. "If they'll turn o˚ the radio and pop in educational CDs for just 30 minutes a day, over the course of a year they gain the equivalent of three full weeks of training.

"We designed Windshield University to give contractors industry specific business training, to turn drive time into knowledge time," Michel continued. "We designed it for anyone with a ‘yearn to learn'."

Windshield University is issued bimonthly and costs $399 per year or $299 for Ser vice Roundtable members. Contractors are encouraged to pass each issue around so that all field service personnel can benefit. For a limited time, contractors can get the first issue of Windshield University free for $7.95 postage and handling.
